Kids bedrooms are one of my favourite things to work on, so when my boys decided to swap rooms again I was very excited to start planning for the make-overs. Jack's bedroom is the first one I got stuck into and we absolutely fell in love with it! Let's take you on a little tour of his new dinosaur themed bedroom.
The Design Process
Jack is obsessed with dinosaurs, so when I asked him what theme the room should have it was an easy choice for him. I started the design process with finding inspiration on Pinterest and interior design student + stylist Leigh Hayes helped by creating several mood boards. Jack's room is not very big so we had to be mindful about the layout and which items to add to the space.
We chose not to include a desk to maximise space for play and relaxing. We opted for a stunning soft green tone for the half VJ wall to give the room warmth and a sense of cosiness.
The big dinosaur wall decals are the absolute hero of the room. They are so beautifully illustrated and the colours look amazing with the rest of the décor.
We added our round washable taupe dot rug, large rust ottoman, sage green dot cushion and scatter cushion to complement the rest of the decór. Tip. Layering rugs and cushions creates depth and interest to the room.
Jack loves reading books and we found this amazing, revolving bookcase that stores over 300 books, so this was the perfect addition to his bedroom.
The house bed is also a really great find as it has two very large drawers underneath to store toys or Lego like we did. We added some cute accessories, handcrafted wall hooks and some more wall decór to finish off the space like the cute spotty stickers and Dinosaur prints.
We hope you love Jack's bedroom as much as we do!
