It's the most wonderful time of the year again! Despite the rollercoaster that 2020 has been, it is so magical seeing the festive period put a smile back on all of our faces. Whether it's adorning your home with decorations, forcing your loved ones to wear matching Christmas PJ's with you, buying Christmas pressies for young and old, binging on Netflix Christmas movies, clocking off work, or just treating yourself to a few festive cocktails... there is something for everyone to love about this gorgeous time of year.
One of our favourite things about Christmas is how differently everyone likes to celebrate it. There are so many sweet traditions and rituals that vary from one family to the next and it's so lovely learning and getting inspired by others. Which is exactly why we got in touch with the beautiful Krystal Giardina from @houseofharvee for a quick little chat about all things Christmas!
Check out our festive inspired interview below, as well as a few swoon worthy pictures from her incredible home. Psst... not finished your Christmas shopping yet? Head to the 'Gifts' section in our menu or take a look at our Gift Card options.
How are you and your family spending Christmas this year?
This year we will be at home with the family like most years, we might do a little picnic on the 24th which would be super cute!
What are your go to Christmas dishes and cocktails?
You have to have a lamb roast for Christmas!! Potato salad, roasted veggies and fresh fruit platters and PAVLOVA, most definitely!
What are your favourite Christmas traditions?
Since we had the kids we always do Christmas Eve at our place and watch a Christmas movie and listen to Xmas music and dance around the house!
How will you be decorating your home this year and do you have a theme?
I have only just put my tree up! No real them this year though, we are in the middle of renovating the kitchen so less is more this year!
What's on your wish list this year?
For me, I would love a new camera lens! Not asking for much haha.
What are your go to businesses to buy from for Christmas presents and / or Christmas decorations?
I always shop via Instagram at Christmas, I spend so much time scrolling through insta and clicking through to businesses. I love to support small business whenever I can. Christmas Decorations this year are all from Adairs!
What was your favourite interior trend of 2020?
Love the curves that seem to be popping up everywhere, I have always been a huge fan of the softness curves bring to the space. Also I feel like sage green made an appearance in 2020 which is another favourite of mine.
What do you predict will be the top interior trends of 2021?
I think curves and timber will stick around, I'm thinking colours may be a little more bold in 2021 and we will see more pops of colour in spaces, like dark greens and blues. Especially in bathrooms and kitchens.
